EVIT Radio to Broadcast East Valley High School Basketball Games
88.7 FM, The Pulse, KVIT, the student radio station at the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), will broadcast nine East Valley high school boys & girls basketball games during the 2025-2026 regular season, from December 1 st through February 12th . The broadcast schedule highlights schools throughout the East Valley, including Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, Scottsdale and Ahwatukee. It also includes last year’s boys Open Division runner up (Sunnyslope), girls Open Division runner up (Valley Vista visiting 6A Semifinalist Mesa), boys 4A champ (St. Mary’s), girls 4A champ (Flagstaff visiting Open Division Quarterfinalist Mesquite), boys Open Division Semifinalist (Millennium), girls Open Division Semifinalist (Desert Vista hosting Open Division Quarterfinalist Xavier College Prep) and boys 6A runner up (Mesa).
The Pulse is a product of EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production program, located at the Main Campus of EVIT. It’s a full power FM public radio station that covers the East Valley and reaches three-quarters of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Pulse showcases the talents of the students enrolled in the program. The broadcasts provide current EVIT Radio students the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience contributing as play-by-play announcers, analysts & onsite engineers. EVIT students will also handle all pre and post-production of the broadcasts.
The Pulse has established itself as the go-to place for live radio coverage of high school athletics. Pulse Sports is in its 11th year of broadcasting high school football, boys and girls high school basketball and high school baseball and softball games. This fall, Pulse Sports just completed a 9-game broadcast schedule of regular season high school football games throughout the East Valley.
The Pulse is a 2-time winner of the “Best High School Radio Station” award at the John Drury National High School Radio Awards.
